The 20B methanol package that was scheduled to arrive under Grump2's bonnet for the Compak Attak has been delayed now until after the final event of the 2005-2006 season. Grump2 was orginally destined for a 20B conversion upon its return from its New Zealand voyage. However due to the car not arriving on Australian soil until mid March, the time between events were to soon and the car was prepped for the Mini Jamboree with the methanol 13B. The decision was then made to attempt at the conversion between events. However, due to the 8 week turnaround, the car would not have been tested appropriately to justify such a move for the final race of the season. Instead, Grump will run the Compak Attak in Sydney with the 13B (and a lot of boost!), and will attempt to break his PB mph of 158mph. Then in the off season, Grump will undergo surgery to graft in the 20B. The picture above of Craig Dyson's engine setup will be mirrored and changed slightly, however most of the components will remain the same. Grump will then make its 20B debut at either the 2006 Nationals on the 15th-17th of September or more likely at the 16th Jamboree the following weekend. Damien is keen to get behind the wheel of the 20B and is serious about having a crack at the Oz Mod title next season. So serious in fact, that he has purchased a second 20B that will be built up with the exact specifications to rotate engines through the season. Come out and support Grump2 and the rest of the McKern Racing/Dyson Rotary race cars at the Toyo Tyres Compak Attak on May 21 at WSID.
