Dyson Rotary will have 3 20B Methanol Engine packages coming from there Labrador stable by Compact Attack in May... Craig Dyson's Pro RX7 will not be the only 20B methanol powered race car to come from the Dyson stable this year. By the time that the 4th Round of the Australian Sports Compact Series hits Sydney by the way of Compact Attack, GRUMP2 and Wayne Dyson's world record holding RX3 will have been converted to the same package. Currently, Craig's RX7 is almost ready to hit the strips and will do so at the Mini Jamboree. It contains a 20B powered cosmo block with 3mm NRS seals, Dyson extend port, Graphic Skills Racing intake manifold, 101mm Mr Turbo Turbo, twin turbosmart 42mm wastegates, twin turbosmart blow off valves and custom Dyson five inch exhaust manifold with twin 2 inch screamer pipes. This combo will be replicated into GRUMP2. Currently, Grump runs a 13B bridgeported cosmo on methanol, with 3mm Hurley seals, GSR manifold, TA 51 Turbo, twin wastegates, and a 3.5 inch exhaust manifold. But with the new updated package, it will essentially mean that Grump will run an untubbed Oz Mod car with a Pro Car driveline setup! Currently Pro cars run consistantly mid to low 7's, so a setup that will produce around 1200HP at the little 9 inch slicks will be something spectacular. Wayne Dyson currently is the benchmark for Oz Mod setting a world record 8.38@161mph at the Powercruise Streetcar Shootout # 2. However to stay on top, you have to move with the times. Wayne is currently running a 20B, 3mm Mazda seals on Sunoco fuel, standard intake, TA 51 Turbo and single wastegate. The package produces 700+HP at the wheels and is very well tuned, making the power at a lazy 22psi of boost! But Wayne is opting for the methanol 20B package minus the GSR manifold and the 101mm Thumper. Instead, Wayne has purchased a 91mm Mr Turbo Turbo and will use a standard mainfold. Thankfully all 3 cars run a 5 speed Lenco transmission to convert the crazy power to wheel speed and both Grump and Craig's RX7 will use a 35 spline Strange diff, while Wayne runs a 31 spline strengthened Landcruiser Diff. So in all fairness, the race is on between Damien and Wayne not only for the quickest untubbed rotary in the Dyson Workshop, but for the first 7 second untubbed pass! Now that's entertainment....
